Truffle Chopped Italian Sandwich

This chopped Italian sandwich features our Truffle Salami and Truffle Mayo, a match made in sandwich heaven. It’s easier to eat, more fun to make, and brings this classic sub to a whole new level.

Servings: 2

INGREDIENTS:

    • 4 slices of tomato
    • ¼ of a red onion, sliced
    • 1 cup shredded lettuce
    • 3 slices deli black forest ham
    • 4 slices (large) deli pepperoni 
    • 7, ¼ inch slices The Truffleist Truffle Salami
    • 4 slices deli provolone cheese 
    • 3 tbsp The Truffleist Truffle Mayo 
    • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
    • Salt and pepper to taste 
    • 1 loaf of fresh semolina bread

    PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

    1. Slice your semolina loaf into two halves. Then slice each half lengthwise, not completely separating the top and bottom halves of the bread. 
    2. On a large cutting board, layer your lettuce, ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone cheese, tomato, onion, mayo, vinegar, salt and pepper on top of each other. 
    3. With a large knife, chop all ingredients well so that you have a chopped salad-like mixture. Mix as you chop so that all ingredients are evenly distributed. Add extra mayo or vinegar if the mixture seems dry. 
    4. Once the mixture is chopped well, load up each half of the semolina bread with the sandwich mixture. Enjoy this take on an Italian sub!
