Truffled French Toast
We "truffed up" a breakfast staple: French Toast. The added Truffleist Black Truffle Granola adds a crunchy and unique element that you didn't know you needed.
EQUIPMENT:
- Whisk
- Non-stick griddle or pan
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 each eggs
- 2 cups milk, half and half or heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 3 TBLspoon sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 4 thick slices Brioche, sourdough or white bread (day old or slightly toasted)
- 2 tablespoons The Truffleist Black Truffle Granola with Honey
- Seasonal fruit
- Neutral oil or clarified butter for cooking
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Mix the eggs, milk (half and half or heavy cream), vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, sugar and a pinch of salt together.
- Soak stale or toasted bread in batter until the liquid is absorbed but not soggy.
- Pan fry with oil or clarified butter in non stick pan or griddle.
- Finish in oven until center is hot.
- Drizzle with maple syrup
- Generously sprinkle Truffleist Truffle Granola over the top.
- Serve with your favorite berries or fruit.
